Add the Preview Button to the OE Toolbar

Now, why do you need the Preview button on the Outlook Express toolbar? For one reason, really. It will get you out of a hung situation when a post has taken over your system. I have found this method to work better than any other. It was suggested to me by Joan F, from Michigan.

What we need to do first is to get the Preview button on the toolbar, since it is not placed there by default by OE. To do this, we will customize the toolbar.

Right-click the OE toolbar and select the CUSTOMIZE option. Find the Preview button in the left window, select it, then add it to the right side by clicking the ADD button. Now click CLOSE. You will see the Preview button on the OE toolbar.

How to Use it

You're surfing the newsgroup checking out all the cool posts, when suddenly, after clicking the next post, nothing happens. This is the classic OE lockup situation.

After making sure you have indeed clicked on the next post, click the Preview button and the preview window will appear with all the newsgroup posts displayed. Notice your new post is already selected. Now, click the Preview button again and you will be returned to the normal OE window configuration, and the new post will commence to load. This tip has performed magic for me many times. It should for you too.

See the Preview button depicted above. Yours will look similar.
